Monday we got to go out on the boat with Dana's Aunt and Uncle. It was SO fun. That has always been one of my favorite things to do, especially on the ocean. We went out from Nassau a ways and found a good spot to snorkel. Then we anchored it at one of the nearby small islands.. they are everywhere down there! Then on the way home Dana got to do a little Bahamian fishing and we stopped off to get some traditional conch (pronounced 'conk') salad. Conch is the slug that lives in those big shells they sell at all the touristy stops. You know the ones that sounds like the ocean inside? It sounds disgusting but its not that bad. And they have it in many different forms down here! Conch salad is probably my fav though. We finished off the night with pizza and a movie. YUM! Unfortunately both I and the Auntie forgot our cameras so I have no pics to share from this great day.
There haven't been many highlights since then. It has been rainy here, and by that I meant random torrential rains at 30 minute intervals so I haven't seen much sun but it has been good because we need the rain! So I have been inside working on many little projects that have been on my to do list for wayyyy to long. Remember those scones I told you I was going to make? Well they turned out AWESOME and were gone by the end of the night.
This is the scones before they went in the oven. What I did not know was they would look exactly the same when they came out. Not so pretty.. Lesson learned. |
This is my deliciousness that is called Cranberry Lemon Scone! |
