3. I finally got to play the XBox 360 Kinect!! It. is. so. fun. Seriously though it totally measures up to the hype!! I loved it.

Tag your it! Name three things you loved about your weekend :)

Belated Music Monday

My apologies for having yet another late Music Monday post. Unfortunately my internet has been extremely sketchy lately so I never really know when its going to work! Oh joy.

This weeks feature is "Never Alone" by Barlow Girls, another oldie but goodie :) Watch here. I remember seeing them in concert when I was just a brace-faced middle schooler and thinking, "Whoa they are like the COOLEST girls ever! They rock!!". Ha and they are still awesome!

This is song perfectly matches my recent struggle of trying to overcome my doubt. I KNOW God is always there. I KNOW he has my best in mind. I KNOW he works in mysterious ways but sometimes it is hard to find that faith.

I waited for you today
I needed you today
So where did you go
You told me to call, said you'd be there
and though I haven't seen you are you still there?

Sometimes it is so hard to just have the patience to wait on Him. But when I do let it all go and just trust in Him, he works in ways I could have never imagined.

I cried out with no reply
I cant feel you by my side
So I hold tight to what I know,
You're here
and I'm never alone

I just need to remember that even when I can't hear him, he is working. Even when I can not see it, he is right by my side and I am never ever alone!!!

On a side note: My aunt and uncle have been missionaries in Mozambique, Africa for over ten years. Their two older children attend boarding school in Kenya and this past week there oldest daughter Donna (my cousin) has been admitted to the hospital there with malaria. Over the week she regressed into a coma and has yet to come out of it. As of yesterday her blood levels are improving and had a positive CT scan, so that is a positive. With that said, your prayers for her would me much appreciated in this time. Also I will post updates on her condition throughout the week.

Favorite Fridays

I am thinking that on Fridays I am going to take some time to reflect on some of my favorite things. The first one that came to mind is family time! The older I get the more I cherish that time. Below is a picture is my Grandpa on his birthday party. He cracks me up!

Music Monday :)

Happy Martin Luther King day everyone! Doesnt it feel great to have a day off?? I love days off because they give me a chance to catch up!

My song for the week was given to me by one of my besties. It is call "This is the Stuff" by Francesca Battistelli. It is a single from her new album Hundred More Years that comes out on March 1st!!!

This is song is cute and is totally one of those pick me ups that can turn around a bad mood. It kinda puts those annoyances of life in perspectives and makes them a little less annoying :) Enjoy!

Also, The Mercy House is have an auction benefit day! So head on over and see if there is anything you would be interested in at http://wearethatfamily.com. All the proceeds go directly to The Mercy House.

Music Monday and Weekend Recap!

This weeks artist I discovered through my good friend Ria. You can find her over at Life as a Wife! The artist's name is Meredith Andrews. The song I am writing about it called "In Your Arms". Especially at this time in my life with school starting back up, a song like this brings me back to what really matters. It is like she stole my thoughts and put them into a song.

I’m turning the world off
Embracing the silence
Walking away from all the voices
That are Screaming in my ear

I've been too caught up
I've been so stressed out
All of the noise replaced the whisper
That used to be so clear

So I close every door
Put my face back on the floor

And I'm in Your arms
Where I belong
There's no other place for me
Than right where You are
Some things just don't change
When I call Your name
You never hesitate to wrap me in endless grace
When I'm in Your arms

I mean how true is that. He is the only thing that can give us true peace and safety. It is so easy to get caught up in everyday life. "I've been too caught up". I cant count the times that I stop and think shoot, I did it again... and I hate it! But thankfully our God has grace and he welcomes us back into his arms time and again. How thankful I am for that! I would be so lost without him... And one last thing...

Isnt Meredith Andrews just stinking cute! :)

On a different note.. A weekend recap!
Over the last few weeks being home and getting everything ready for the new semester Dana and I havent had much time for just us. So on Saturday we decided that we were due for a date :) I love dates with my husband! I was in the mood for something new so we went to a Japanese Steakhouse, you know the ones where they cook right in front of you? It was the coolest! I had never been to one before and I loved it and it was amazingly delicious!
our chef creating an onion volcano

the dish of amazingness!!

yes it was that good...

pretty sushi!

Afterwards we decided to have game night with some yummy drinks and friends! It was the perfect end to a marvelous evening :)

On Sunday we got the pleasure of getting to meet up my Aunt and Uncle from Georgia for lunch!! It was such a great opportunity because they have never met the Hubs!! They dont get up to Minnesota very often but now that we are right next door its a bit more convenient. :) The main reason for their visit was because my Uncle was running a marathon in Mobile. He is quite the dedicated marathoner and he ended up getting first in his age group!! HOORAY! Afterwards we went out to eat at our favorite, Felix's. It was so so so great catching up with them.

Friday is here!

Woo hoo its Friday! Fridays never quite seem like Friday to me cause I work Friday nights but I still like them because it means it is that much closer to sat night which equals my break from work :)))

This weekend the hubs and I will just be working and resting and preparing for school to start next week. EEK! We both are kind of dreading but also trying to be thankful for this season in our lives. I love learning but loathe homework and studying. I am sure there are many out there that feel my pain :-o

Also my Aunt and Uncle will be in town from Atlanta because my Uncle is running a marathon in Mobile! We are excited to spend time with them because they have never meet Dana. How crazy?!

I am gonna leave you with a couple pics from a wedding we went to while we were home in Minny. I grew up with the girl getting married so it was fun to see her go through this transition.

Angela wore her grandmothers dress! How cool.

Me and the hubs being me and the hubs. <3

One last thing. Head on over to Life as a Wife! and join her blog hop!
Have a fabulous Friday everyone!

It is a new year! Does anyone else find it crazy that it is now 2011?? It always takes me a while to get adjusted to the change of a year. I feel like I just got used to writing 10 at the end of all my dates!

Either which way I am ready to take this year by storm. Over the past few weeks I cant seem to stop thinking about the fact that life flies by. I don't want to be that person that wakes up in ten years and goes. "Man, I wish I could go back...". I want to be someone that cherishes life and each and every moment that it contains. God has chosen a purpose for each and every one of us and frankly everything he gives me is always pretty much amazing so I dont want to miss out on this one!

Along with this thought however also comes the constant reminder that sometimes enjoying life to fullest is slowing down and loving the simple aspects. Especially as a newlywed I am realizing how important time is to the people you love most. Filling my time with silly little projects is not worth missing out on some of the greatest moments that happen in life when you spend quality time with others.

Going home for the holidays opened my eyes to a million things I am thankful for. Yes. A million. :) One of them is these girls

We have been friends since we were all little tykes and have gone through many ups and downs together. We always have such a blast when we are together!! Dana and I have so many amazing people that love us at home. That is just unbeatable to me and I will be forever thankful for great friends and family. :)

Newsboys - Miracles

Hello again! I am finally back from our Minnesota vacation. It was sooo amazingly great to go home and catch up with our family and friends over the holidays. There is just something refreshing about being home. We got re-boosted in a way :) BUT we are also happy to get back into our regular routines and get stuff done! I will post more about our snowy vaca later on in the week.

For one of my Christmas presents my husband got me the new Newsboys cd. Anyone remember my earlier Music Monday post about them?? Needless to say I was ecstatic and have been obsessively listening to it ever since. IT IS AMAZING. They seriously rock out in every single song. My newest favorite is there song Miracles

It reminds me that miracles are not a thing of the past. God does them everyday! He can do absolutely anything because he is all powerful. It is amazing to me what he can change and how he completely turns around people lives. Its crazy!

Besides that I just love this cd because I LOVE rocking out for Jesus!!! And this cd helps me. That way I have music to do it to :) Enjoy everyone!!
