Music Monday + More

Todays Music Monday selection is from Lacrae's new CD Rehab called "Divine Intervention". The way the album is composed is really unique. The songs are set up like the process of going through rehab, a rehab of breaking off from the world and turning to the Lord. Its cool to listen to the songs in order, it really tells a story. My other favorite from this album is "Background".

I have always appreciated Lacrae because he adds something to the christian music world that there isn't much of. Plus I love to get jiggy so its nice to have some clean tunes to do that to!

On another note, I am on the 6th day of being away from my hubby.. This being apart thing is so hard!! :( But he said that training is going well and that he is very sore and tired! I can only imagine. Also I guess the first night he was training with the team, one of the goalies got knee-ed in between the eyes and it broke or chipped his skull. Like he couldn't even open his eyes or anything. So the ambulance had to come and get him and then he flew to the States for surgery. OUCH!! Poor guy :( Besides that he said the trainings have been injury free. Praise the Lord!! God is good.

Tonight I am going to a bridal shower for my future sister-in-law Jonna!!. I am so excited. They get married a week from Saturday and I am just so darn ecstatic for them! I am sure it will be a night filled with fun, laughter, and fellowship :)

Blessings!

My Life Currently

Today officially marks the longest I have been away from my husband since we have been married. 3. WHOLE. DAYS..!! I know I cant believe I have been able to do it ;) I know most people probably view this as pathetic but I am missing my hubs like crazy!! And I still have two weeks to go :( I don't know how the army wives do it!! More power to them for sure. I am not as good at this as they are.

The Hubs had his first training with the Bahamas last night and he said it went really well! Most importantly he came out injury free (he is just a TAD injury prone) which makes me very happy! On another note, one of the goalies got kicked in the head and got a concussion and had to have the ambulance come. Eek! not so good..

I on the other hand had a little retail therapy yesterday :) I strongly believe it is good for you!! lol Me, my mom, and my sister went and picked up my bridesmaid dress for my brother's wedding (WOOOOHOOOO!!) and then we went to IKEA and MOA (Mall of America, for all of you non-Minnes-OH-tans out there ;)). It was fun!! I have missed the massive amounts of choices those two place leave you with. Lets just say my self-control really got some good practice yesterday. Besides that I have just been enjoying my time home seeing some very familiar faces. It has been so nice to just slow down and do things I enjoy and spend time with people I have missed dearly. God is blessing me with this trip for sure!!

Tonight I am off to make some Chicken Parmesean for my brother and sister. YUM! It will be yet another fun night :)

Hope your weekend starts off super duper!!

Changes :)

Hello lovelies! Time to reveal a story that reveals my current future! (Does that make sense? eh.) Well, a couple posts ago I told you that the Hubs and I were training for something. The reason why we were doing this involves a really complicated story that contains a lot of family history fun facts and such, BUT I am going to take a little time to try and explain it just because I like you guys that much :)

Ok, first off, my husband's mom's side of the family is from the Bahamas. Remember this, it is important. She grew up there and her whole family still lives there. She met the hub's dad there while he was spending some time teaching in the Bahamas. Later on they got married and moved back to the good ol' Minnesota (where the Hubs' Dad grew up) where they live now! BUT (yet another twist) they decided to have all their children born in the Bahamas so their children could have dual citizenship with the U.S. and the Bahamas. And it is because of this fun fact, that my hubby is eligible to play for the Bahamas's national soccer teams. In the past, he has played for the U20 team, U23 team, and the Men's National Team. They don't have any sort of league there so they just basically play in tournaments and such. Why I am telling you this ridiculously complicated family history is because on Wednesday my hubby is leaving to try out/play for the national team once again, this time in World Cup qualifying rounds. He played for the team in the last World Cup qualifying rounds but got injured after the first round :(. For those of you that don't know how the World Cup works, only 32 teams get to play in the actual tournament but over 200 teams enter into qualification.. SO they play in elimination rounds until it gets down to 32.. There are more complicated parts to it but you get the idea :) Each round consists of one home and one away game against close country. The Bahamas plays Turks & Caicos for the first round. Tough life huh? They HAVE to play in the gorgeous Caribbean. Poor guys.. Ha. Anywho, that is pretty much going to be consuming our lives for the next two months. Like I said the Hubs leaves on Wed. and then he will come back in two weeks for my brothers wedding (WOOOO!!) and then we will both go back down to the Bahamas and stay there with his grandparents through the games on July 2nd and 9th. Whew! What a doozy of a story! If you can follow that, you can get through anything with me :)

The Hubs hates when I brag on him but, 1. He is kind of a big deal (even if it is just in my mind ;) ) 2. Who doesnt love to brag on the love of their life??! So I told him he has to get used to it :) Either way we would love your prayers and support during these times! It is going to be a fun adventure for us but at the same time, weird to be on a semi-vacation for that long! I think I will maybe be able to get used to it... :)

Also no Music Monday today. But I will say that I just got the whole Phil Wickham CD and it is SOOOOOO good. I Love it :) Dana's Nana bought it for me cause she read my blog post about it. She is so stinking cute!!

Have a great start to your week friends!

SURPRISE!!!

We are back in Minnesota!!!! SURPRISE!!! :)

For a while now the Hubs and I have been planning on coming back earlier then we originally planned to surprise our family and friends. Well we ended up being able to get back a WHOLE WEEK earlier and oh boy was everyone shocked. We got a lot of "What? What are you doing here??" and my mom may or may not have had a small breakdown. She really missed us! Lol. I loved it because I LOVE surprises. Everyone was so happy to see us and we are soooo happy to be back!!

We drove a straight shoot from Mobile to Minnesota (20hours!!) and only stopped for gas.. Oofta! It was a doozy. Once we arrived on Monday we spent the whole day surprising everyone and spending time with both of our families. SO AMAZING to see them. Yesterday we went out to breakfast and ran errands then took a much needed nap.  Then I went out with the Hubs and trained a little (I will explain what for in a later post :)))). Then we went to his brothers soccer game and I finally got to see my sister! Today we went out for breakfast (you will start seeing pattern with this.. The hubs' grandparents are in town and they LOVE breakfast) then I spent all day with my mom and mom-in-law and nana running some fun errands!! One of the fabric shops around here is closing down so the whole store was 60% off. Yippee!!! Now it is time for some more relaxing cause I am on vacation gosh darnit!!

You will be seeing much more recap posts from here on out and and everything may have a much chillier tone.. Its so cold here!! Compared to Mobile anyways.. :)

Be blessed today!!

Not on Bread Alone

So yesterday at church this one verse stuck out to me.

Matthew 4:4 - But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'"

I sort of had an "aha" moment when I read this verse. The world we live on today is SO materialistic and we always need this or want that. Instead he wants our focus to be on Him, His word, and what He wants for our lives. We should be hungry daily for his word like we are hungry for food. We should thirst for his directions ALL THE TIME. The Lord says that all we need to live on is his word and he alone will provide.

Ephesians 6:10 - In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered by your union with him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides.

When we do this we will feel more satisfied than anything of this world can make us feel. Me and my husbands life right now is testimony to this word. The more we rely on him, the better things turn out. The more we search for him, the more we get blessed. The more we give our lives up to him, the more he provides for us. How amazing is he?!

I hope everyone has an amazing Thursday. And be happy because tomorrow is Friday!! :)

Here and There

Sorry I have been MIA for so long now! I have been studying, studying, studying. Today I am acting like Dori from "Finding Nemo" and I keep telling myself "Just keep studying, studying, studying". I am almost there though! I have one more final tonight and then I am home free!!!! You guys are probably happy that I am almost done just so you don thave to read anymore posts about it! HA! Well tomorrow we will both be happier people.

Anyways just wanted to take a quick study break to say hi and thanks for always being so supportive!

Another fun thing is today marks two weeks till the Hubby and I will be in Minnesota :) Hopefully it gets warmer there by then!

Happy Tuesday! :)
