Resurection Sunday 2011 Live

Sorry I have been so absent from the blog world lately!! I am full swing into Finals week.. But I am happy about that because it means the end is literally days away!!! Anywho I am taking a short study break to write you about my amazing Easter Sunday experience!!

We had the "normal" parts to our service like a short message and praise and worship (which both are ALWAYS good :)) But the highlight of the service for me was the dance performance. Our church houses its own dance school, among many other things, and they put together a dance for Easter Sunday. OH MY GOODNESS! It was super amazing. We have some really talented dances in our church body!! The whole dance was about "turning the hearts of the father to the children and the children's hearts to the fathers." Basically it was a representation of Jesus being our father and we are the children and how he will come for us no matter what. There are three parts to the "show";

First: is a dance featuring Morgan and her Dad. Morgan is a senior in high school and starting next fall she will begin attending an elite dance school in Texas. They only accept a handfull of girls every year so its a big deal!! She is really talented.. Also I wish you could see the emotion on their faces in this dance. I had to hold back the tears because I didnt have any kleenexes!! Geez...

Second: is an actual video that the church's video production team made (I told you they do many things!) in downtown Mobile. It wasnt even actually raining they used a fire truck!)
ps. in the beginning of this one keep an eye out for the handsome man with the books walking across the street.. thats my hubby makin me proud!! ;)

Third: is resurrection dance. The blonde dancer is the head of the dance school.

Ok now that I have bored you to death with explanation.. Enjoy the video!!

I absolutely loved it. Such an amazing representation of his sacrifice and love for us..

Happy weekend to everyone!!

It's Your Love

Hey all. I hope everyone had an amazing Easter! I definitely had a great one. The hubs and I both agreed that it was by far the best Easter service we had ever been to. I am just SO darn thankful for our church. It has really given us a home away from home. Speaking of, we officially became members a week ago!!! The hubs and I are very excited about being "official" with the church. I will share with you more about the Easter service in a later post. But I warn you, bring tissues. :) After service we spent time with our pastor's house and had amazing food and got tan by the pool. All in all a good day :)

For now I will give you the belated Music Monday song! I was listening to the Hillsong CD that my Father-in-law gave me a couple Christmases ago on the other day and realized some of the songs were PERFECT for this time of year. they speak about God's love and how he saved us and the freedom he has allowed us to have. Pretty much they are filled with pure AWESOMENESS. Anywho I stumbled across this song "It's Your Love" and it continued on repeat all the way through Easter.. and maybe still today... I dont know :) It is from the Faith+Hope+Love album

Its your love, its your love that has saved me
Its your blood, its your blood that has claimed me

Recappppp :)

Guys, I just finished went to my last Accounting class for the semester. Yaaahooooo!! It like I can start to smell summer seeping through the cracks. It is just around the corner!

This weekend we actually got to spend a little time around the pool and it was sooo great! I definitely could get used to having this kind of weather in April. Especially when everyone in Minnesota is getting snow (I really do feel bad for you guys!!!) We also got to go to a fun birthday lunch for a friend from church. It was yummy! We had sugar cookie cake. Ever had that?!! Its a give-you-a-tummy-ache-but-I-cant-stop-eating, kind of good. Would recommend this one only for very special occasions unless you want instant love handles ;)

I am taking a break from Music Monday today but will leave you this fun image I threw together...

What do you think???

Hope you had a great start to your week!

Celebrations!

Today marks one month until the Hubs and I will start our journey back home to Minnesota for an extended visit!!! We are sooo excited considering this is the longest either of us has been away from home. Don't get me wrong I am so happy with where we are right now but I miss my fam and friends!!! And ready for some catch up and relaxation :)

Also... Today marks the end of the last full week of class for the semester! WOOOOOOOOO! Next week we get time off for Easter (LOVE) and the following week is a short week because of finals. That = an end in sight! Which = a happier me :)

Besides that my weekend will be jampacked with work, soccer, church, and some pool time. Just enough fun things to balance out the not so fun things :) Should be interesting!

I wish a happy sunshine-y weekend to all of you :)

Blessings,

Music Monday!!

Here we go again! This Monday I am featuring a band that to me is not very typical and go by the name Manifesto. They have such a unique sound to them. They very artsy but also very fun to listen to!

The song I chose is "The City Harmonic". Watch Below!

Now I will leave you to your music while I go recover my burnt skin from way too much sun exposure over the weekend :) Have fun!

More Changes..

FINALLY had some free time to mess around with my blog and add some changes.

What does everyone think?? Spill the beans! I am still planning on doing a whole new background header but I had worked on this one a while ago and just decided to finish it up and give it a temporary home.

About the layout.. Does everyone like this one or the previous one with two sidebars better? I personally think this one is less distracting but don't like how its making my buttons look...

On another note... Tomorrow is Friday! Woohooo!!

Music News!! and Recap

So just minutes ago I learned that Peter Furler (former lead singer of the Newsboys) is creating music again as a solo artist!! This is some exciting news to me because Peter Furler is SUCH a talented christian artist. He truly has an amazing gift.

His single "Reach" Was just released to radio on March 25th and will be available for purchase on April 8th. Like all his songs with the Newboys, this song gets your heart jumpin'!! What a fun Monday treat! :)

This weekend was jam packed with activity. Some background that explains this weekend's events: Last week I actually officially joined the my college's women's soccer team, for the spring season, and Friday was our first spring scrimmage. We played the local Divison 1 school that isn't too far away. It was SO great to get out and play again. I had forgotten how much I loved it! I was also pleasantly surprised with the result; We had only one sub and played against a team of 26 (in other words, a new team each half) and only lost by two. :)

Besides that I worked all day Saturday and Sunday we had an DOUBLY AMAZING church service and then had a surprise birthday/pool party for a friend after. So overall, a great weekend :)

Happy Monday friends!
