A goodbye for now.

Hello blog world! Many of you will not be surprised by what I am about to say since I have not posted since February, but I have decided it is time to close down my blog. With life picking up it has unfortunately become more of a hindrance than a blessing and as much as I love being connected with you all, it is time that I moved on. I just wanted to say thank you for all of your sweet friendship and support over the last year. I am so grateful for the relationships that transpired and were strengthened through this blog. Also, I am not disappearing, I will see be checking to see what you all are up to. So, keep in touch! :)

Loving Life

I had a great weekend with the Hubs. When we got married I thought the feeling of always wanting to be with him would eventually start to wear off but man was I wrong! It has just gotten stronger and with school and work in full swing our time together has been cut down significantly. I was more than happy to be able to get to spend all weekend with him. We did have to spend a lot of time doing work but at least it was together right?! Another great bonus is I got to sleep, a lot.  I had no idea how tired I was!! My body was loving the extra rest.

This coming week we are going to be celebrating Love Day ;), doing lots of homework, and getting ready for our long weekend trip to Raleigh/Atlanta!! It will be very busy but very great and I am excited about being able to mix in a lot of fun stuff with work. :)

Lastly, here is a glimpse of what our Valentines Day will consist of.

We are going to make spring rolls! I am very excited about this since the Hubs and I both adore fresh spring rolls.

With some nummy peanut sauce to dip it in. I found this recipe from Suzannah over at Adventures in Dressmaking.

And then for dessert we are gonna have some chocolate turtle fondue with fresh strawberries, sugar cookie thins, and marshmallows for dipping :)

We are planning on just relaxing and enjoying each others company. We might pop in this movie.

A little fun :)

No Music Monday today. But I do have lots and lots of picture to make up for it :) In September my friend had a big costume party for her birthday.  I wasn't so sure how into it everyone was going to get but I was not gonna let that hold me back! I like dressing up as a couple with the Hubs and since he had already figured out what he wanted to be that made my job a little more simple...at least in theory.

So here we are...

A woopie cushin and an a Happy Wife air freshener. :) For those of those that can't see it, I choose Fart-Masking Scent as my aroma I chose. I ended up sewing that sucker together a few hours before the party (nothing like pro-castinating!) and yes there were paint streaks because the letter were still wet when I was sewing. Lol

When we got to the party we were pleasantly surprised that everyone else got super into the theme and there were some really great get-ups. It was a super fun night and I would definitely do it again!

You can't have a southern party without a redneck! Ha

A Little about Me

I was tagged by Laura over at Learning to Love so I guess I will share a few things about me if I have to.. Because I definitely do not have fun doing these types of things. ;) Here I go!

1. I LOVE my hubby with all my heart. I bet you would have never guessed that ;)
2. I rarely paint my finger nails because it never lasts long enough.
3. I never leave my toes unpainted. Contradictory?
4. Writing papers is one of my least favorite homework assignments. Kinda weird that I love blogging huh?

Light of Your Face

Can you tell I listen to Jesus Culture and Hillsong ALL. THE. TIME?!? Ha I love them, their passion and their annointing. I can't get enough!!

This week's Music Monday is "Light of Your Face" by Jesus Culture. To me it speaks of the pure love that we are able to have with our God Almighty and just the simplicity of having a heart that is fully after His. To me, it is a great picture of a son or daughter that longs to have whatever the Father has for them.



Today I just want to encourage to experience all that God has for you. He is doing amazing things now, today, and wants you to be a part of his awesome plan. He is sooo good!!

On another note I just want to share a gown from the Golden Globes that I am LOVING. I think the sleeves are just perfect and you just can't go wrong with tan right now. Isn't is just so romantic?!

A little late...

So I am writing about our church's Christmas Party!! that may or may not have happening over a month ago.... :/ But that is besides the point because I have lots of pictures which I know you all love :) It was a night full of yummy food, skits, and friends. What is better?! Oh and I almost forgot to mention the part where we got called up on stage to reinacte the love story of one of another couple in the church. Maybe that was because I tried to suppress the memory of my husband pretending to assist me in giving birth to a baby.. Yes, that actually happened. Lets move on..

New Song for a New Year

Happy New Year and welcome to 2012!!! I can personally say that I am so excited about the transition into this new year and what it brings along with it. Last year was no doubt a great year. The Hubs and I grew in leaps and bounds and are not even close to the same people as we were a year ago. Our Savior has done amazing things in our lives and He is molding us into the followers that he has called us to be. We are determined to keep running towards Him and we have complete faith that He is about to start doing even more awesome things not only in us but in the world as well.

On that note, this Music Monday's feature is a song we often sing at church and as we were singing it yesterday I couldn't help but feel like it was a great depiction of what this new year is able to bring us in Christ. I can't even begin to explain the freedom that the Hubs and I have found in the Lord over the last year and we both feel like we have barely scratched the surface. He is so capable of breaking every chain and every stronghold that the world tries to put on us and then uses that to make us more and more like Him.

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is hope.

Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is healing.

And your blood is enough to break every chain.

And your love is enough to break every chain.

I encourage you to not look back at hurts and disappointments but instead let the Lord heal your wounds and move forward. With that "we will not be the same". It is ridiculous what we are capable of in Him and I am telling you it is awesome and ever increasing!! The Hubs and I are not looking back and are confident in God our Father and the blessing that he is pouring over our lives. I am so excited what I get to do for His glory in 2012! Bring it on!! :)

Music Monday! Since Christmas is right around the corner and because you probably don't get enough Christmas songs as it is, Music Mondays will be Christmas features from now until the 25th!!! Don't worry thats only two weeks ha.

Great Things.

WOOHOOO!!! I am done with my second-to-last semester of my undergraduate career!!! It feels SO amazing to be finished. Now I actually have time to do fun things!!

Anyways, when we were home for Thanksgiving both of our families wanted to get/give us our christmas presents since we wouldn't be home for that. So I wanted to share with you two things that I got in order to help improve my Etsy Shop, Glory Accessories :)

They make my heart happy. I have had my eye on some new software and a new camera for quite sometime now and I finally found something that my wallet would agree with :) I found them both online at SUPER good deals on Cyber Monday. YAHOO! I know it is not a dslr camera but it is about as close as you can get with digital and I personally LOVE it, a great starter camera. I walked down to my husband's office (which is where all of our mail comes) after my last final and that little lady was waiting for me in a package. The timing could not have been any better, I wonder who planned that out? ;) Can you tell I am so excited?! I even wanna name her, any good ideas? ha.

Today is Christamas kickoff day in the Veth household. This morning we went out and bought this year's ornament and some cute little stockings to hold us over until we have a bigger space :) SO FUN! I LOVE CHRISTMAS.

Later we are going to decorate our tree/house and are planning on making one of those cool popcorn garlands. After that is the church Christmas party!! Everything there is a blast so we are so excited!! I will share lots of pictures from my NEW camera later :)

Finals.. blah

So sorry I have been out of commission for so long. It is full blown finals week for me... blah. Not my favorite time of the year. On the bright side, I just finished my second one, I have all my study guides finished, AND most importantly, once this finals week is over I have only one more of them left for undergraduate career!!! Pretty pumped about that last part :)

Anyways once I am finished on Thursday everything gets focused on Christmas. Because I have literally been studying since the minute I got back from our Thanksgiving trip, I haven't been able to spend time thinking about christmas and even less decorating for it. So come Friday, the Hubs and I are going to go out and get this year's ornament, actually spend some time talking together instead of just being in the same room, and decorate our apartment. I couldn't be more excited!! I LOVE christmas and all that it represents. Plus this year we actually have a real christmas tree to decorate instead of the makeshift one I made last year. Oh and by real I mean a two foot tall fake tree.. its all perception right?! Ha. :)

Back Again!

And we are back!! We flew back from Minnesota last night after a much needed Thanksgiving break trip. We had so much fun enjoying our family and seeing good friends. We both agreed on the way home that it was a trip full of blessing and restoration. I couldn't have asked for any better!! Now it is back to real life and finals... ugh. But I will be finished with the semester a week from Thursday! So very exciting. Then after that it becomes everything Christmas! Cant complain :)

Randomness

So its 80 degrees out today. Is that weird? Very much so... Even though the hubby and I have been here for over a year now I still can quite get used to this weather. I see people all over campus wearing shorts and I think, "Why in the world are they wearing shorts?!" and then I have to remind myself, oh yeah, its because its stinking hot out!! I am not by any means complaining however! I don't mind trading my winter boots for sandals in November :)

Music Monday!! This was actually supposed to happen yesterday but I was having troubles with my blog and life is too crazy right now to spend time tinkering with it so I figured I would just wait it out. And yay its now working correctly again! This song is sung by Christ for the Nations. I love how it depicts The Lord's majesty and his awesomeness.

Small Feat... Great Day

This was my feat of the day. Building a new train track with Jack and Sam. I am pretty sure they were satisfied with it because when it was all done Sam, in his sweet 3-year-old voice, said, "Miss Bre this is a good track." Ha. Oh kids, they always know just what to say ;)

 We helped out watching our friends' kids because they just had a new baby not two weeks ago. So we took on the entertaining duty for the day to help out tired parents :)

Maggie, their now second youngest (4 total), hasn't quite figured out how to "smile nice" yet lol. So more than likely when you pull out a camera in front of her this is what you get. I personally think its just the cutest thing ever..

Getting Excited.

So I am really starting to get excited for Thanksgiving. The Hubs and I get to go home to Minnesota! YIPPEE!! I cant wait for some quality family and friends time. It is always such a nice refresher.

I am also excited for this lovely little recipe I found at one of my favorite websites Skinny Taste. It is a recipe for Mashed Sweet Potatoes Brulee, mmmmmmmm. Here is where to find it :)

It will be a new venture for me but my hubby is such a fan of sweet potatoes that they have actually started to grow on me therefore I love finding good recipes for them. And how can you look at that picture and not start drooling? Not that I am drooling... Anyways I just can't wait for all the yummy food that comes along with the great holiday of Thanksgiving.
